HOW WE WORK
Site survey before we quote

For new offices and Wi-Fi projects, we do a physical walk-through with proper instruments (Ekahaus, NetAlly) and produce a heat map — where the dead zones are, where the risers land, which walls we can't run cable through. That informs an actual plan, not a guess.

ISP coordination that saves months

The most common project delay in NYC is the ISP install date. Verizon FiOS Business can take 6-12 weeks; Pilot Fiber is often faster; Optimum can turn up in days. We scope options early, book the install before the lease is signed if possible, and coordinate building access.

Cabling done right the first time

Cat6A minimum for anything new, labeled at both ends, punched down properly, tested with a certifier. Cheap cabling is the biggest source of intermittent network issues nobody can diagnose later.

Documentation everyone can use

Every network we manage gets a written diagram — IP scheme, VLAN plan, port map, WAN interconnects, DNS. Living documentation, updated on change, so the next person isn't reverse-engineering it from a switch config.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Meraki or UniFi for a small office?
UniFi if you value CapEx (buy the gear, no annual license) and are okay with a slightly rougher management UX. Meraki if you value OpEx-style simplicity, cloud-first management, and don't mind paying licenses forever. Both are solid; the answer is often 'what does the current stack use.'
Do you install cabling yourselves or subcontract?
Both. Simple runs and patch-panel work our engineers do directly. Whole-office cabling for a new build gets a licensed low-voltage electrician subcontracted under our project management — we're not going to fake a competency we don't have.
How long does a typical new-office network install take?
4-8 weeks from lease signing, driven mostly by ISP install lead times and cabling scheduling. If the office already has usable cabling, 1-2 weeks is possible.
What's covered in the managed plan vs. project work?
Ongoing management, monitoring, firmware, config changes, troubleshooting are managed. Physical installs, new-office buildouts, moves, and major redesigns are project work quoted separately.
