IT tickets in Slack. Not a portal your team refuses to log into.
Your team already lives in Slack. Asking them to also open a Zendesk ticket in another tab, log in, categorize their issue, and wait for an email response is why 'shadow IT' happens. We plug tickets into Slack directly — a user types their problem, we reply in the same thread, and everything's still SLA-tracked in the background.
Every MSP promises 'Slack-friendly support.' In practice, most of them use Slack as a paging tool — a user pings a channel, the on-call opens a ticket in a portal, and the response comes back via email. The user is now in three tools for one issue. They stop bothering. Actual issues go unreported. Shadow-IT workarounds proliferate.
Real Slack-native support means the ticket IS the Slack thread. Users don't leave Slack. Engineers respond in the thread. The ticketing system captures it all automatically for SLA tracking, audit, and reporting — but that machinery is invisible to the person who just wants their VPN fixed.
This is what our platform actually does. Not a feature we bolted on — it's how the whole product is built.
HOW WE FIX IT
01
Install our Slack app
One admin approves the app install to your workspace. Standard OAuth flow, standard permissions. Users don't need to install anything.
02
Users message a channel or DM
You choose the entry pattern. Common: a dedicated #it-support channel that any user can post in. Or DM the NexDesk app directly. Or use `/it` slash command anywhere. All three route to the same intake queue.
03
Ticket auto-created with context
The moment a user posts, a ticket is created in our system: user identity, workspace, timestamp, channel context. If they're a known user, their device inventory + recent tickets pull in. Engineers see the full picture without asking the user to re-explain.
04
Live engineer replies in-thread
First response is a human engineer, not a bot. They post in the same Slack thread the user started. Back-and-forth, screenshot sharing, file uploads — all happens in Slack. Resolution logged automatically when marked complete.
05
SLA + reporting run silently
Behind the scenes: first-response SLA tracked (usually under 5 minutes business hours), resolution time tracked, category and root cause tagged. Monthly report to your leadership showing ticket volume, resolution times, and repeat-offender categories to fix upstream.
WHAT YOU GET
●NexDesk Slack app installed in your workspace
●Support-channel setup + user announcement
●Direct-message + slash-command intake enabled
●SLA + escalation policy configured to your business hours
●Per-user device + inventory context wired to tickets
●Integration to your MDM (Intune / Jamf / JumpCloud) for remote actions
HOW THE ENGAGEMENT WORKS
Standard managed engagement
Slack-native support is included in every managed plan by default — it's not an add-on. If part of your company runs on Microsoft Teams instead, we support that too, through the same ticketing system and the same engineers. Plenty of clients run both.
What onboarding looks like
Install the Slack app (5 minutes), announce the channel to your team (one message from you), and it's live. First-week tickets tend to be a mix of real issues and 'testing the new channel' — both fine. Real usage typically stabilizes by week two.
Cost
Included in the managed plan ($2,500/month minimum). Slack itself: your existing paid workspace works — no upgrade required. If you want Slack-support-only as a standalone (no full managed plan), we can build that as a custom engagement.
QUESTIONS WE GET
Is this a Slack bot or real people?
Real people. First response is always a human engineer. We use bots for logging, routing, and post-resolution surveys — never for the actual triage or fix.
First-response time?
Under 5 minutes for business-hours tickets. Under 15 for after-hours critical. Documented in SLA. If we miss, you get a note explaining why and an SLA credit.
Does it work with Slack Enterprise Grid?
Yes. We support both standard Slack and Enterprise Grid deployments, including org-shared channels for multi-workspace setups.
Can we still email you if we want to?
Yes — email intake works alongside Slack. Same ticketing system in the background. Some senior users prefer email; that's fine.
What about ticket privacy? Some tickets contain sensitive info.
Users can DM the NexDesk app directly instead of posting in a public channel. Same intake path, only the engineer sees the content.
Can we self-host the Slack integration?
No — the app runs in our platform. Data stays in your Slack workspace + our SOC-aligned platform; nothing goes to third parties.
