SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
NexDesk is a managed IT platform operated by Work Telemetry LLC. We use SMS for exactly one thing: sending a one-time code to confirm it is really you signing in to your own NexDesk account. This page describes that program in full — who it is for, how you consent to it, how often we message you, and how to stop.
1. Who operates this program
2. What we send
The only text messages we send are one-time verification codes, and we send them only in response to something you just did on your own account.
- ·A code when you sign in to service.nexdesk.ai or portal.nexdesk.ai and SMS is your chosen second factor.
- ·A code when you confirm a security-sensitive change to your own account, such as changing your password or adding a new multi-factor method.
- ·A code when you first add your mobile number, to confirm the number belongs to you.
We do not send marketing, promotional, sales, survey, newsletter, or informational messages to this program, and we never will. If a message claiming to be from NexDesk asks you to click a link or share a code, it is not from us — report it to support@nexdesk.ai.
We will never ask you to read a verification code back to us. No NexDesk engineer will ever request one, by phone, email, or chat.
3. How you opt in
Consent is collected through a web form inside your own NexDesk account. There is no other way to be enrolled — we never add a number on a customer's behalf, never import numbers from a client's user directory, and never purchase or rent phone numbers from anyone.
The steps are:
- ·Sign in to your existing NexDesk account at service.nexdesk.ai (staff) or portal.nexdesk.ai (client users).
- ·Open your profile and go to the Security section.
- ·Under multi-factor authentication, choose Text message (SMS) as a method.
- ·Type your own mobile number into the field and tick the consent checkbox.
- ·We text a confirmation code to that number. Entering it completes enrolment. Until you enter it, the number is not enrolled and receives nothing further.
The consent checkbox reads, word for word: “I agree to receive one-time verification codes by text message from NexDesk at the number above. Message frequency depends on my sign-in activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. See the SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.”
The checkbox is unticked by default and the form cannot be submitted without it. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing anything from us, and is not required to use NexDesk — an authenticator app is available as an alternative second factor, and is what we recommend.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends entirely on your own activity. You receive one message each time you sign in with SMS as your second factor, or confirm a security-sensitive change. If you do not sign in, you receive nothing.
In practice most users receive between two and ten messages a month. We do not send recurring or scheduled messages of any kind.
5. Cost
NexDesk does not charge you for these messages. Message and data rates may apply from your own mobile carrier, according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
6. How to stop messages
You can opt out at any time, by either method below. Both take effect immediately.
One thing to know before you opt out: if SMS is the only second factor on your account, removing it may leave you unable to sign in. Add an authenticator app or save your backup codes first. If you are locked out, your organization's administrator can help, or contact support@nexdesk.ai.
7. How we handle your number
Your mobile number is used to send verification codes and for nothing else.
We do not sell it. We do not rent, trade, or share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
The only party that receives your number is our messaging carrier, Twilio, which transmits the message on our behalf and may not use it for any other purpose. Your number is stored encrypted in our database and is deleted when you remove SMS as a method or when your account is closed, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Carriers and delivery
Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Codes expire five minutes after they are sent; if one does not arrive in time, request a new one or sign in with your backup codes.
This program is supported on major US carriers. Delivery to numbers outside the United States and Canada is not supported.
